How-to Be Happier In 2018: Five Powerful Tips I Learned In 2017

2017 has been a great year, full of laughters, cries, fears but most of all optimistic about my future and I hope you’re too! Turning 21 “last” year was another stepping stone in my life and a entry to adulthood. I hope to continue to prosper in 2018 and continue to grow individually and impact other people lives, in the slightest way possible. I must say 2017 has taught me 5 important life skills that I can carry on in my next life time, as for you you’ll be in a happier place one year from now, if you learn to do these too.

Don’t complain.

Life is not perfect, understand that. If you’re not happy about something, do something about it. Most complaints start from your attitude about the situation. You can’t change people, no matter how much you want them to. You also can’t change the circumstance of situations once it’s done, it’s inevitable. It’s life boo, get over it. I’m not saying I never complain sometimes..I mean I complain about how I hungry I am, sometimes. but I don’t waste my energy on complaining or feeling bad for myself or for others.

Surround yourself with positive energy.

I can’t stress this enough but the people you surround yourself with does essentially add to your personal growth and development. I have lost friends due to different paths we took but also gained lots of new and amazing friends through my journey in school and work.

I’m sure you’ve heard of the Law of Attraction, it’s understanding that when you give off positivity and place your focus on things that are positive, you’ll soon start to see positivity surrounding you every day. Therefore, attracting even more positive events and experiences. That is why you need to surround yourself with like-minded, happy people and leave people who are making you feel down or don’t support your goals.

Life is not as complicated as people think.

It’s important to take the time to evaluate what strength and weakness each of us possess. Once you understand what you like to do, pursue in a intern, coop or job that you can see yourself doing and build that expereince! Hustle, make money, live life for memories and enjoy. This year I learned that I am a creative person and my purpose in blogging is to share and educate you on the things that will help you in all aspects in life.

Work-life balance.

It’s a matter of what you value, but I value in making quality time for my love ones no matter how busy life gets, whether that’s once a week or month.

Don’t worry what others people think (including your parents)!

This is a huge one and I think people care too much what other people think. Life isn’t perfect no matter what people show through their social media accounts. It’s easier said then done, but stop comparing.

Everyone’s life is unique and that’s what makes you original, so just be happy with what you have and make the best of it. As long as you work hard, you’ll be able to achieve the thing’s you envy of other people one day. Parent’s on the other hand may have some form of pressure on your success and life paths, however at the end of the day if you’re healthy and have a job you love, as a parent, they will be happy for you regardless.

5 things I hope to achieve in 2018

  1. Patience! I like to think that I have a lot of patience already but sometimes I get too hard on myself, such as graduating school on time and getting an amazing career. But I need to be patient and enjoy the process.
  2. Know what I want, I can sometimes be indecisive such as “sushi or italian…how bout pizza”, so I’m going to master this by choosing the first thing’s that interest me and not looking back!
  3. Creating more content for you guys because I appreciate everyone who reads my post!
  4. Becoming more in tune with myself through yoga or through religion.
  5. Stop eating out everyday, and prep my meals!

Thank you for reading till the end. I hope that 2017 for you was full of many achievement’s whether that be intellectually, emotionally, financially. Perhaps, you feel you didn’t achieve much, but if you’re trying something new and failed, you’ve accomplished in getting out of your comfort zone, and learning from your experience. Now, for 2018 I hope we all conquer our fears and achieve our aspiring dreams we long await for.
